Back in March, two women from Texas with the same first name met up as the USOC Media Summit, an event that allows media to meet some of Team USA’s future stars. They likely had no idea then they would make history on the same night.

Manuel won gold in the 100m freestyle on Thursday night, while (the much shorter) Biles earned her second gold by winning the women’s all-around in gymnastics. Manuel called the meeting magical at the time, showing she just might be a clairvoyant.
