With heavy musical influences evident in venues along Beale Street, it is not surprising that many of the must-see acts of 2016 are deeply involved in the blues genre including Mavis Staples.

Set to play on Friday, April 29, R&B and gospel singer Mavis Staples has been singing and performing music for over 60 years. Along with her family band The Staple Singers, Mavis would create a spiritual journey of music during the civil rights movement.”
